What you do..........

If you live in Texas and your car thermometer says 113 on the way to soccer tots and you are going to play cards at a friends house after and you are bringing a Darn Good Chocolate Cake and watermelon and you don't want it to all melt in the car.

Just bring it all in!

(Coach thought we were bringing her a present. :)

Back in Action - one week later.....

Our first trip to the pool - exactly one week after our leader (in orange) had her tonsils and adenoids out.........

Children are amazingly resilient - aren't they?

The trip to the pool

And the trip home.......

So the other day......

I went to brush my teeth.........

brush brush brush

GAG!!!!!!!!!

I could not figure it out. Why would my toothbrush taste like soap? Was I having some kind of freak medical reaction? Would I wind up telling some House - Like doctor that -  right before the attack came - I tasted soap?

As I was mulling these things over and rinsing my mouth out, toothbrush out, mouth out, toothbrush out........

I looked down -

and there

on my sink

was a bar of soap

with tiny tiny brush marks as if someone had furiously rubbed a small toothbrush like object back and forth, back and forth, back and forth as fast as they could...........

hmmmmmmmm

So this lovely blogger:

Grab My Button!

Gave me this lovely award:

And Tagged me as well! I was on vacation so I am catching up now with a Tag/Award post. :) I am passing the award AND the tag along to these bloggers :)

I would love to cover her in prayers and I think that something light and fun like this would be perfect for her right now! :0

She is my buddy in real life and deserving of an award I say!

She posted something on Twitter about mosquitos and flying monkeys that actually made me laugh out loud!

and you know what - that is the end of my passing on awards - mostly because - I have three kids that are currently taking my house apart (well - two are taking the house apart - the poor tonsillectomy child has basically "gone quiet" the last couple of days. So she is next to me in bed watching Hip Hop Harry (which - yes I know - really digressing a lot today - have you ever watched that show? Hilarious!)

Anyway - on to the tag now that I am totally out of time.

Tyson updates

Update from Molly last night :

Tyson is out of surgery. 5 hour surgery Ty needs no blood transfusion, no complications. They gave him an epidural and removed the entire lung, but nothing they could do on the heart. She’s waiting to see Tyson, and he is waiting to go to the CICU (Cardiac ICU). He is considered Critical Condition and the next 48 hours are important, but for now he is doing well.

Update this morning

He had a good night last night and was able to sleep most of it. He is not making much urine so that is a little worrisome (kidneys) and he just started more fluids and Lasix to help. Ummm there was lots of dark blood in the chest tubes so there was a chance of internal bleeding last night that had us really scared but turned out OK. He may need some blood today, some labs are low. He is breathing on his own and only on 1 liter of O2 which I am sure he will be able to keep up today and go with out the help. His epi is still in and delivers regular pain meds and will probably stay in till tomorrow.

All for now, he is doing better than expected, alert at times, watched some Thomas the Train last night, already had lots of visitors and is really looking good. Thanks for all the prayers and I will update tonight.

Pray For Tyson

This is the email that Tyson's Mommy, Molly sent out last night

Photobucket

Joshua 1:19 "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. He will never leave you or forsake you."

Tomorrow is yet another hard day in the many hard days of Tyson's life but I know he is stronger than this and will be home soon. I already miss the sound of his laughter, his never ending energy and boundless spirit. He is sleeping sweetly in his own bed, sharing a room with his brother, in no pain and not scared and while I know the next few weeks will be the opposite I will not leave him. Even in the scariest of times, I stay, I listen and I watch just like all his angels do. He will be having his Aorta repaired and his left lung removed but I know God will keep my baby, his baby, under his guarded wing through the entire process and until he is safe again. I cannot believe I was blessed with a miracle and he has been such a blessing to others.

Please continue to pray for Tyson and our family at this time. I will send out an update as soon as I can. Know that the first 48 hours will be crucial but I will be by his side and with him in every moment. I want to thank all of you for the many prayers already. Please feel free to pass this on to all those mothers, friends, prayer warriors you know so that he is covered in prayer in this journey. Soon he will be home and we can celebrate his 3rd birthday!

Blessings,
Molly

An Ode To Fathers

You are helpful with equipment

And provide a safe place to hide
You are handy in all sorts of situations
And you are always on my side
I love you up - I love you down
I love you North and West
I love you Daddy for one reason
Because you are the best!

A Tale of a Tonsillectomy

Once upon a time - there was a beautiful princess. Now this princess has actually been on another similar adventure this year. You can read about it HERE.

Well - this Princess had a bum set of tonsils and adeniods and it was time for them to go!

The Princess dressed in her finest gown, grabbed the King and the Queen of the household, and headed out to this amazing place. Where they really do know how to treat royalty.
Here the Princess was greeted by the official greeter. She introduced her to the Kingdom and gave her a passport that she signed.
Our next adventure in the Kingdom was to gather all vital and pertinant information.
The Princess handled all of this with the dignity and Grace befitting a Princess.
The monkeys on the Princess's gown did not care to be squeezed quite so tightly.
The entire Royal family was given jewelry.
Even Fluffy, the loyal companion of the princess found himself on the receiving end of the jewelry giving.
The Princess got to pick out what flavor of mask she would like to have. The funniest part of this was soon after surgery she asked me, "Mommy - where is the Watermelon mask?" That is good giggle juice - she remembers nothing! :0
Even the Strongest Princess needs a good Daddy King to lean on.
Listening to instructions
Silly Princess!
Another wonderful thing about the Kingdom was the fact that they really know how to pick some good TV shows! The Princess was pleased with the selections!
The King Daddy and the Princess playing a little pre-surgery game.
A moment of fuss - the worst part of the whole thing was the fact that they do not allow Princesses in this kingdom to eat after 8:00 - this a tough thing on a Princess!
This is a very good Princess with a very faithful companion so they managed to rally back.
Here the King and Queen had to say Good-bye to the Princess. :(
Now comes the hard part. The Kingdom's doctor had worked his magic and done a fantastic job. His exact words were, "she was goofy as all get out - she thoroughly enjoyed her giggle juice - and she did great!"

It is tough to get separated from the King and Queen and have something big happen and we want to tell the entire story so this is Fluffy the companion and the Princess in the Step Down recovery. This part was hard on the King and Queen's hearts.
Fortunately the King is rarely without a gadget and the Master Nurses at the Kingdom have some very impressive medicine so all was soon calm.
This was a groggy Princess and Co heading to the potty.
Here the novelty of the wheelchair has really lifted the grogginess!
The Princess leaving the Kingdom.
Driving home with the Queen next to her in the back seat. The reading lasted about a minute - then the napping began.
This is the GINORMOUS bottle of medicine that the King picked up soon after our return. Sweet Sarah Jessica Parker!
The Princess happily resting in the King and Queen's bed eating her Royal Mashed Potatoes!

and the Kingdom is quiet now so the Queen Mommy can actually get this post up 5 hours and 20 minutes after our big surgery!!!!!!!

******** One final note - this entire experience was nerve wracking and stressful and we were taking a very healthy little girl in for a VERY routine procedure. I prayed so hard while I was there for the other Princes and Princesses and Kings and Queens in that big Castle that helps care for so many with problems very big and very small. I am DETERMINED to find a way to help out parents that face what I faced today times a million and every day. I am going to research ways to give or help Ronald McDonald houses or the hospital directly but would love to hear any suggestions! *************

Not Me Monday - San Diego Edition

I am NOT becoming quite the iPhone blogger. I am NOT thinking of continuing with this trend once I am home. I also did NOT borrow Hubby's computer tonight to finish up this post just so that I could link to McMama

Today we did NOT head to this place........

We did NOT have a great time and we did NOT learn anything new.

There is also no way that Mommy gets a bigger kick out of the Lego characters than the kids - that would be very goofy on the Mommy's part.

I do NOT have very cute children. I am also NOT at this point asking you to put this one in your prayers for Friday when she has her tonsils and adenoids removed. Yes - if you are a follower - this is the same child that already had a surgery this year! I will not remind you of that by sending you to this post HERE and asking you to start praying for our big day this Friday!

I am not all about hands on learning. I was not more excited about this than my children were - that would be goofy - um - again.

There is no way that the only picture that I am putting of myself on the blog would be the picture that the Ladybug took of me in the goofy (yes - a theme is developing here) 4D glasses at the Bob the Builder show.

I did NOT have a child slip and put a foot in the water while climbing on a boat ride. This did not happen while I was talking on my phone and while she was under my care. She did not ride the remainder of the ride with said shoe riding up behind her sister so that it could dry out a little before we hit dry land.

We did not watch a goofy fireman shoe and I was not the only member of my family that laughed out loud.

I do not think that this little guy is the cutest thing ever and there is no way that I can't stop taking pictures of his little hands on the rides.

The Daddy and the girls did not ride this for the second time today and laugh their heads off! I did not wonder if the Noodle was going to puke up cheeseburger. There is no way that she has had WAY more cheeseburgers to eat than any 4 year old should consume in a week.

This is not a picture of a little man lamenting his height and inability to ride with Sisters and Daddy. I did not have him turn back around because I missed the first photo op.

I did not refuse to ride this ride on our first day but then decide that it was against the new Cupcake code to sit out of anything fun and I rode it! I did not have an amazing time and I did not giggle harder than the girls as we were spinning wildly around.

Once again - goofy.

We did not return back to the hotel to brave the cold - yes Texas friends - I said - brave the cold. The pool is heated and every night we last about 15 minutes and then all 5 of us hit the hot tub!

I also did not groan when the Noodle had to use the bathroom and I did not get a good laugh from the people in the hot tub when I mentioned that she and I were on a quest to visit every bathroom in North America.

We do not have to come up with elaborate turn taking systems because of this silly little contraption pictured below. We never have anyone cry or scream because of it and we for sure never have to push buttons twice or ride twice to make people happy.

I did not take a picture of these two because they are such peas in a pod. We did not allow WAY too much ipod use this vacation. The children are not going to go into shock when we go back home and I bust out the wood blocks to play with and organic granola to eat. :)

I do not have a very funny husband who is a great Daddy and we did not end this day as we started it - with our breathing treatment.
