Big Sister - Little Sister

So - we were in Lowes. We were walking around talking and looking for our new lighting fixtures.

All three children were running wildly and each had a balloon on their wrist.

Suddenly,

Big Sister's balloon went floating to the ceiling

There was a terrible pause

a look of horror exchanged by all

and then

Little Sister started to RIP her balloon off of her own hand as if it was burning.

"You can have mine! You can have mine! I didn't even want it anyway!"

Once again a pause

and then I said,

"oh sister"

and Big Sister and I turn to one another and I say

"she loves you so much"

and Big Sister and I both burst into tears

and Big Sister took Little Sister into her arms

yes right there

in Lowes

with our Daddy running wildly around with a borrowed broomstick trying in vain to get the balloon back

and Baby Brother doing his best to take flight off of a lighting display

and Mommy crying her eyes out taking pictures

and

Guess what..........

We forgot all about the balloon and went home together
